        On Oct. 27th, 2007, the 4th International Symposium on Intelligent Information Technology in Agriculture was convened in Beijing Friendship Hotel.

         There were more than 180 participants coming from 11 countries, including the USA, Australia,Canada, France, Holland, Turkey, Japan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nigeria, China, etc. Professor Zhao Chunjiang, director of NERCITA (National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture) presided at the symposium. Mr. Feng Jichun, Mr, Tian Xiaoping, Mr. Yang Xiongnian, Mr. Wang Maohua and Mr. Simmon Blackmore delivered speeches, respectively.

        After the opening ceremony, the participants carried out two-day panels, discussing the subjects of agricultural information and communication technology, agricultural sensing technology and geographic information system, modeling and decision support system (DSS), virtual agriculture, agricultural sensors and control technology, precision agriculture technology and intelligent equipment.
